Our library is located at 1203 N Main St in Wichita, KS. Main is one-way going south on this block, so you need to come in from 13th St. There is a parking lot on the north side of our building.
We are open 10am – 4pm, Tuesday and Saturday. Please check the calendar or call 316-264-3611 for updates on holiday or weather closings.
The library is open to members and non-members for research. Photocopies are 25 cents/page and researchers may use cameras and scanners. We have wifi and a computer for patron use. The library is staffed by volunteers who can help with library resources and general genealogy questions.
Our holdings fill three floors in our building and cover the entire United States, with emphasis on Kansas and Sedgwick County. For Sedgwick County, we have Wichita Eagle & Beacon obituaries from 1955 to present (with an index), early marriage, divorce, death and probate records, city directories and 40 years of our own MHGS Register. We trade quarterly publications with a number of other genealogy societies around the country, with many holdings dating back to the 1970’s.
