We operate the MHGS library with a small staff of volunteers, so we are limited in the amount of research we can do.  If you live in the Wichita area, or are visiting, we would love to see you at the library, which is open to the public.

Copies

We can send copies of some of our records.  These records are indexed under the Online Resources menu.

• Obituaries: $5 per name.
• Marriage affidavits (1870 – 1941): $5 per name.
• Probate file: $10 plus 25 cents per page. The number of pages is listed on the index.
• Quiring Monument Purchase Orders: $5 per name.
• Divorce file: $10 plus 25 cents per page.

Research

MHGS volunteers can conduct limited research in our library.  The fee is $20/hour for non-members and $10/hour for members, with a minimum of 1 hour.  The fee includes 10 copies for every hour of research.  Additional copies are 25 cents per page.  We will contact you after 1 hour of research to report on our progress; at that time you may choose to terminate the research and get your copies or continue the research.
