Osborn 965 Pasque Drive Longmont,Colorado Query: I am looking for decendents of the following families that settled in the area of Sedgwick County in the years from 1870 and perhaps later. They are Herndon from Terre Haute, Indiana via Missouri. Lee from Kentucky. Osborn{e} from Casey County Kentucky. My grandfather, Newton Caswell Osborn died in 1888 of typhoid and is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery at Cheney. He was married to Ella Malinda Lee. Ella's sister, Emma Calkins lived in Cheney most of her life and died about 1959. I do not know where she is buried. I am hoping someone will have at least second hand knowledge of the names. The families farmed in the area of Goddard and Garden Plain. I will be very grateful for any help that is offered and if there is anything I can do in the area of the front range of Colorado I will be happy to try to help. Thank you! |

I would like to be able to pass this information on to them once they get old enough to appreciate it. I remember the following from memory. Peter A Gerritzen (4/11/??-????) + Caroline Gerritzen Peter was my ex's grandfather. Caroline is still living, but is getting older and I don't want to intrude as I believe there are still feeling regarding the divorce. My ex is not sharing informaiton with me at the moment, so I am doing this "on my own." They lived in Claflin or Odin - I'm not sure, but both cities ring a bell. Caroline and Peter shared their 50th wedding anniversary in Oct 1986. He died shortly after that, I believe between 1988-1990. They had 5 children (they are still living so I won't give their names). Of the 5 children, all graduated from area schools and were valedictorians or salutatorians. I live in Fl and any help would be greatly appreciated. Janette |
