Many of these negatives have labels etched into the emulsion; these labels are best read on the flipped image. MHGS digitized the album. "The Great Cretoe" scrapbook and ephemera includes photographs, promotional materials and newspaper articles regarding the circus career of Charles Miller, known as The Great Cretoe. The Charles Smith material covers the life and family of Charles Smith of Halstead, with a focus on his career with the YMCA in France during WWI.
