Brass Plaque in Meditation Garden at Reformation Lutheran Church
- Title
- Brass Plaque in Meditation Garden at Reformation Lutheran Church
- Description
- Photograph of a plaque in a garden. Plaque says " 'Hands of God and Man' by Bernard 'Poco' Frazier This monolithic concrete sculpture was completed in 1954 for Reformation Lutheran Church located at 6909 E. Kellogg. It was moved to this location in 1994, and erected for public display in 1999. The sculpture was listed in the Wichita Register of Historic Places by the Wichita City Council in 1996. 'There is much symbolism in this creation. The hands may be that of a contemporary man or of the congregation. They may be the meditating hands of God or of Martin Luther. They may be the hands of fellowship or friendship. The hands mean only the viewer sees them as, and may be interpreted by Scripture but are not meant to be positive symbolism.' Bernard Frazier"
