Georges daughter Clara was born in Kansas in 1900. I cannot find them in the 1900 census, so I thought perhaps someone might have found them in the 1895 census. George's wife is Anna E., childrens names Jesse B., Mary Ellen, William H., Walter, Bert, Earl, Clara and my grandmother PEARL. I need to find Pearls birth date in particular, so I can see if she applied for a delayed birth certificate. My grandmother disappeared about 1935 and my Mother knew very little about her. Any help would be appreciated. |

She is buried beside her husband, Henry Giese Lowry, at Oxford, Kansas. She was born in 1819 in Somerset County, PA. Pennsylvania sources claim her to be Catherine SHANK or SHANKS. LDS microfilm cross reference SHUNE with SCHNECK. SCHNECK is cross referenced with SHANKS. There is an LDS record of a Catherine Shanks born 1819 in Somerset County. Daughters married names are Rice, Shaffer, Durkee, and Hayes or Hays. Alice Rice, daughter, lived in Moberly Missouri according to the 1880 census. Other daughters whereabouts are unknown. Obituary said Catherine died at home of her daughter in Wichita. Which daughter??? Thanks! |
